The Harbour Fish Market

Harbour and sea, fishermen, nets, fishing buckets, craftsmen. The new Harbour Fish Market, opened in 2005, created by architects Eduardo de Miguel and José María Urzelai, substituted the previous one which had been built in 1952. The present building is very modern and has special architectural features making it possible to accommodate all sorts of fishing services.
The market has a room for preparing fish, a storeroom and area for cleaning boxes, an auction room with stands, a pre-installation for automated systems and a room for preparing fish to be shipped, which has a loading bay. Furthermore, there are operations offices and visitor Access, who can see the auction from Monday to Friday at 15.45 during the winter months.
You can also choose to take a guided tour, such as the Fishermen’s Route.
